Sidi Ifni, Morocco- French President Francois Hollande has responded to tabloid reports about a secret affair with actress Julie Gayet by saying that he will not give discuss it, particularly during his first 2014 press conference.
"I will not answer any questions about this subject," said François Hollande.
He said that it is normal for people to go through excruciating moments at certain points in their lives.
"Everyone may encounter tests in his personal life,”he said. “That is the case here. These are painful moments.” He added that personal issues must be dealt with in private.
“My principle is that if something is private, we must deal with it privately and respectfully.”.
The President’s response came as part of the presidential 2014 press conference organized at the Elysée. Commenting on the issue of privacy, he said, “This is neither the place nor the time to do it. I will not answer any questions about it today. I will do so when the right time comes."
According to media sources, the President has faced embarrassment since the shocking revelation of his alleged affair.Hollande has admitted to facing difficulties in his private life and confirmed that he will respond to all questions related to problems in France, except for those related to his alleged affair.
