Rabat - Russian aircraft Sukhoi SuperJet-100 (SSJ-100) will take part in a planned tender in Morocco, Russian Upper Parliament Speaker Valentina Matvienko said on Thursday, news agency Sputnik reported.
"We are interested in participation in the tender held by the Moroccan airline [Royal Air Maroc] for the purchase of regional aircraft," Matvienko told reporters during an official two-day visit to Morocco.
According to the same source, the Superjet-100 is a twin-engine regional passenger airliner, which completed its maiden flight in 2008 before being sold commercially for the first time in 2011.
The plane, which can carry up to 95 passengers, is designed to compete internationally with its An-158, Brazil's Embraer and Canada's Bombardier.
