Rabat - Morocco's national carrier said in a statement that daily flights from Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport to New York, Montreal, Paris and Tunis will be doubled this summer.

RAM has announced double-daily flights to New York from Casablanca International Airport instead of the only existing one. All flights will be operated by B787s, a mid-size twin-engine jet liner developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, the company said.

In addition to the resumption of the Casablanca-Riyadh line (direct flight), the flight between Casablanca and Jeddah will be shortened by two hours with the removal of the stopover in Cairo, Egypt. These daily flights will be operated by B767 jetliners.

The strengthening of summer flights will benefit especially Africa, says the company in the statement carried by news website Yabiladi.

Seven indirect lines will now be direct. They are Casablanca-Lagos, Casablanca-Accra and lines connecting Casablanca to Kinshasa, Bissau, Banjul and Praia.

From next August, RAM will launch a third daily flight (direct) between Casablanca and Dakar. Flights between Casablanca and Abidjan will increase from 10 to 12 flights per week.
