Rabat - A video released by the YouTube account FARMAROC shows the King of Morocco Mohammed V and Crown Prince Moulay Hassan inspect the construction site of the "Union Road" in 1957.
The video shows the then Moroccan monarch wearing a Jellaba while Crown Prince Moulay Hassan wearing shorts. They were accompanied by Mehdi Benbarka and Mohamed Oufkir.
The Union Road was established in 1957 and ran from the city of Taounate before ending at Koutama, covering a total 80 kilometers.
The building of the Union Road required the participation of 11,000 people. They were recruited from the different regions of independent Morocco.
