Rabat - The Moroccan security services arrested Thursday, in Marrakesh and Laayoune, 4 French Islamic extremists suspected of having links with terrorist organizations in some hotbeds of tension, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
"Upon intelligence reports of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the National Squad of the Judicial Police (BNJP) services arrested on November 13, 2014 four French Islamists, including two of Polish and Rwandese origins, settled in the cities of Laayoune and Marrakesh on suspicion of links with terrorist organizations in some hotbeds of tension," the statement said.
According to the same source, one of the suspects has dubious travels to Egypt and Yemen, attracted attention by his extremist speech, while another was suspiciously collecting information on public facilities.
The suspects will be brought to justice after completion of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, the statement concluded.
