Taroudante - Moroccan athlete, Rhizlane Siba, offered Morocco its first golden medal at the African Senior Athletics Championships, which is being held from August 10 to 14 at the Grand Stadium of Marrakech.
By winning the African Senior Athletics Championships in Marrakech, Siba has become the African champion in the high jump. The Moroccan athlete Rhizlaine Siba beat Egyptian Basant Mohamed Mosaad in the final of the competition.
Both athletes tied for (1.80m), but the Moroccan won thanks to the number of trials. The bronze medal went to Ethiopian Ariyat Dibow Ubang (1.78m).
This gold medal adds to two silver medals garnered by Morocco during the first two days of the championship. After the silver medal won by Mustapha Laaziz, who finished runner-up in the 10,000 meters, Nisrine Dinar, specialist of pole vault, offered Morocco its second silver medal at the African Senior Athletics Championships.
