Casablanca- According to the daily Albayane, Kuwait’s ambassador to Morocco Mr. Shamlan Al Roomi has recently praised the diplomatic relations binding the two Arab countries.

Al Roomi exalted the invaluable efforts of HM King Mohammed VI and the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-SA Ahmed Al-Sabah in promoting fruitful and lasting cooperation between Morocco and Kuwait through the consolidation of their strategic partnership.

“Secular and strong relations, uniting Morocco and Kuwait, currently take the form of a partnership based on a solid foundation of respect and fruitful cooperation,” Mr. Al Roomi told Albayane.

According to the ambassador, the strong relations between the two countries are also reflected in ongoing consultation and coordination on issues of regional and international concern, including the decisive question of the Arab-Islamic Ummah.

Al Roomi also added that Kuwait never ceased to praise the role King Mohammed VI plays championing of the Palestinian cause through the presidency of Al Quds Committee and the last committee meeting in Marrakech, which illustrates the continuing efforts of the sovereign to preserve the Arab and Islamic identity of the holy city of Jerusalem.

Al Roomi also highlighted the two countries’ convergent positions on Arab-Islamic issues, as well as their commitment to international law in order to establish peace and security in the region.

“The harmony characterizing Moroccan-Kuwaiti relations also resides in the noble and courageous position adopted by the Moroccan country during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990,” recalled the Kuwaiti Ambassador.

In conclusion, Al Roomi said that the privileged political relations between the two allied countries, whose first milestone was set by the late King Mohammed V during his historic visit to Kuwait in 1960, are rooted in the reign of the late King Hassan II and are currently being consolidated by the determination of both King Mohammed VI and the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-SA Ahmed Al-Sabah.
