Rabat- While there is a draft law in the Moroccan Parliament seeking to criminalize normalized relations with Israel, the Hebrew nation is reported to have exported a range of military equipment to Morocco.

According to Israeli newspaper Maariv, Israel sold Morocco indirectly three Heron spy planes through French group Dassaut.

The unmanned planes employed in espionage activities are equipped with Tactical Airborne Reconnaissance Pod System usually carried by on F-14 Tomcat and Data Link System (DLS), a digital, wireless video link compliant with Unmanned Airborne Systems Digital Data Link waveform.

Speaking to daily Akhbar al Yaoum in its issue of Tuesday, January 21st, Mustapaha El Khalfi, Moroccan Minister of Communications and Spokesperson of the Government said that he is not aware of this deal, adding that “he is not qualified to talk about this issue.”

According to Israeli newspaper Maariv, the deal of selling military equipment to Morocco was sealed in March of last year. Moreover, the Heron drones are not the only piece of military arsenal acquired by the Moroccan Army. Other reports suggest that Morocco bought four additional planes for espionage operations and border control.
