Rabat - Official in charge of foreign relations and member of the political bureau of the Italian communist party Fausto Sorini underlined, on Wednesday in Rabat, the importance of the Moroccan autonomy initiative for the southern provinces as it seeks to reinforce peaceful coexistence under Morocco's national unity.
Sorini, who is on a visit to Morocco along with an important delegation from his party, told MAP following a meeting with secretary general of the Progress and Socialism Party (PPS) Nabil Benabdellah about the need to implement the said initiative, calling to find a solution to the issue which he described as very complicated and thorny.
Nabil Benabdellah affirmed in a statement that the Italian communist party is understanding concerning Morocco's stand over the Sahara issue and considers that it is indeed an artificial dispute. "The party supports our efforts to find a political solution to this conflict under the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Morocco," he said.
