Fez- Sebastian Kurz is Europe’s youngest foreign minister to take office at the age of 27, after Austria’s inauguration of its new coalition government in Hofburg Palace in Vienna Dec 16, 2013. Sebastian Kurz belongs to the Christian youth organization and has been appointed according to Austrian newspapers because of “his skills in social networking and popularity in celebrity journalism.”
What most people don’t know is that Sebastian Kurz was previously a minister at the age of 25 years in 201. He was assigned the ministry of integration. Since 2011 Sebastian Kurz was committed to the integration of immigrants in the Austrian society. He also helped launch a forum for inter-religious dialogue between Islam and Christianity by organizing free language classes for Muslim religious leaders.
The young minister said in a tweet on his Twitter account: “During my first day in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I had the chance to sign a book of condolences for the death of leader Nelson Mandela to show my respect and appreciation to such a great leader.”
Austrian political analysts predicted that the young minister will bolster the Austrian diplomacy, which was hitherto absent on the European stage. Thanks to his pragmatism in the way of doing things Sebastian is deemed capable of meeting the challenges of the Austrian diplomacy.
