Taroudant- Condé Nast Traveler world magazine has released its pick for the ten top cities in Africa and Middle East with Essaouira Fez and Marrakech on the list.
The American magazine ranked Essaouira Fez and Marrakech among the best five African and Middle Eastern cities.
The Egyptian historic city of Luxur topped the list of best cities followed by Essaouira Fez and Marrakech respectively ahead of Cape Town, the South African city, which ranked fifth.

Since the 16th century, Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, also known by its Portuguese name of Mogador, is an outstanding coastal city with a rich culture and history. With its fortified walls, fishing harbor and seagulls soaring and screaming over the town, the city is haven for Gnawa music fans.

Fez, the oldest Imperial city and also a UNESCO World Heritage site, is Morocco’s third largest city. The city is home to Jami Al-Qarawiyyin (al-Karaouine mosque), founded in AD 859, which is the oldest continuously functioning university in the world.
