Taroudant - British multinational grocery retailer Tesco has been under harsh criticism after displaying a promotional Ramadan greetings in one of its shops filled with smokey bacon Pringles.
The British retailer got off on the wrong foot when it decided to initiate a Ramadan campaign with pork-flavored crisps, overlooking the fact that Muslims are forbidden to eat pork.
As soon as one of the customers posted on twitter the photo of the ships prominently displayed on a Ramadan promotional shelf in a London market, it caused an uproar among social media users.

In response, the UK supermarket immediately posted a statement on twitter, apologizing for the mistake.
@mqazzaz We recognise these Pringles weren’t in the most suitable place and our store colleagues have now moved them. - Nathan (2) — Tesco (@Tesco) June 24, 2015
While Tesco realized the Pringles were not placed in the suitable place, they said that they offer various tastes and flavors to meet the needs of their customers during Ramadan.
@mqazzaz Hi Mona. We are proud to offer a wide range of meals and products to meet the needs of our customers during Ramadan. (1)

Despite the fact that these Pringles do not contain any meat, they are not halal certified, and some Muslims prefer to avoid them.
