Rabat- American magazine Vanity Fair ranked Princess Lalla Salma, consort of Mohammed VI, the second most influential princess in the Arab world.
Lalla Salma is known for her philanthropic activities in Morocco and abroad. In 2006, she founded the Lalla Salma Foundation for the Prevention and Treatment of Cancer. "This commitment allowed her to be named a goodwill ambassador to the World Health Organization (WHO)," says Vanity Fair.
"Lalla Salma is admired for her beauty, enhanced by a flaming red hair. She wears the robes of the greatest Parisian fashion designers or richly decorated traditional kaftans. She displays an elegance often compared to that of Princess Rania Jordan," the magazine added.
Princess Rania, the wife of King Abdullah of Jordan, was ranked on top of the list.
She is followed by Lalla Salma, Ameerah Al-Tawell (former wife of Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal of Saudi Arabia), Cheikha Mozah of Qatar, Princess Haya, daughter of late King of Jordan and wife of Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Emir of Dubai , Princess Haya Al Khalifa of Bahrain (cousin of king of Bahrain), Princess Sarah Zeid of Jordan (consort of Prince Zeid Ra'ad Zeid Al-Hussein of Jordan) and Cheikha Al Mayassa (daughter of former Emir of Qatar Hamad ben Khalifa Al Thani).
In March 2015 Africacradle magazine ranked Lalla Salma on top of the list of the most beautiful first ladies in Africa. In 2011, she was among the 50 most influential personalities of the Arab World, according to the Middle East Magazine. She was also ranked the third world's most beautiful first lady by American website "Richest Lifestyle".
