Rabat- Morocco is set to install surveillance cameras in courts in order to combat “false witnesses.”

Moroccan Justice Minister, Mustapha Ramid, has announced that his Ministry will install surveillance cameras to "combat false witnesses".

Ramid, who was speaking Tuesday at a session of oral questions in the House of Representatives, announced his intention to act with "firmness" against people who give false testimonies in Moroccan courts.

He said perpetrators will be identified in the near future with the help of surveillance cameras that will be installed in courts.

Ramid added that 427 people were prosecuted for perjury in 2012, against 374 in 2013.
