Rabat - Houthi rebels in northern Yemen released the first images of what is said to be the corpse of Moroccan pilot whose F-16 warplane was reportedly shot down on Sunday.
Supporters of the Iran-backed Shia group shared gruesome photos of what they claim to be the body of the Moroccan warplane's pilot near the crash site.
Morocco World News decided not to republish the photos, which are available on a number of Iranian websites.
The Moroccan pilot crashed his warplane flying on a mission for the Saudi-led coalition aimed at restoring legitimacy in Yemen in the Saada province.
Houthi rebels claimed to have shot down the plane using surface-to-air missiles, but the plane is believed to have crashed because of technical difficulties.
Houthi militants also published images showing wreckage from the Moroccan F-16 warplane scattered in a mountainous terrain in Yemen.
