The Moroccan French daily newspaper “Le Soir echoes” announced Tursday that it will stop its publication as a result of a "difficult financial situation" facing the daily.

The editor in chief, Saad Tazi, explains the decision by the "difficult financial situation" facing the newspaper.

The accumulation of problems related to the difficulties in finding advertisements, lack of funding and the competition from electronic websites made it a hard task to meet the payments to the printer.

“As a result, our financial situation requires us a time of reflection to reinvent ourselves by learning from the past and refining the formula best suited to our environment,” The daily wrote on official website.

Speaking to H24info, Tazi explains that "stopping publication is temporary." The title should find paths to newsstands "the time it finds a means to restart,” he added.

Launched in early 2008, “Le Soir echoes” was one of the most interesting Moroccan French language dailies.

Newspaper circulation worldwide continues to decline rapidly as a result of the dominance of the electronic press, the increasing cost of paper, the decline of advertisement revenues, the charges of many employers and the distribution expenses that sometimes account for up to 40% of the nominal price of the paper copy.
