The decision of the Istiqlal party to withdraw from the coalition government and the potential scenarios of the end of this crisis, and the active role of Al Quds Committee and the Agency of Bayt Mal Al Quds in favor of the Palestinian cause following the statements attributed to Egyptian political figures are the issues that dominated the editorials of Moroccan dailies on Friday.
"Le Soir Echos" comments on "the undermining of the state institutions by the Istiqlal party," saying that "the royal intervention was a saving act that prevented institutions from collapsing." The paper also describes the Monarchy as a historical guarantor of institutions and unity of Moroccans."
Entitled "Emergency", "Aujourd'hui le Maroc" stresses that "the real issue the government should address as soon as possible is our trade balance which continues to deteriorate," adding that "the issue is urgent, because this situation will have an impact on foreign reserves that are highly strategic for the security of the state.
For its part, "L’Economiste" and "Assabah" indicate that the decision of the Istiqlal party to leave the government "is not a crisis of the regime, or a system," adding that "it is a crisis of government and majority, and is inherent in the parliamentary regime, which characterizes Morocco, adding that Belgium has spent a whole year without a government, in the absence of a coherent majority while Italy has been repeatedly led by a government managing current business."
With regard to statements attributed to Egyptian political figures who underestimated the role of the Al Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty the King and the Agency of Bayt Mal Al-Quds, "Bayan Al Yaoum" notes that Morocco has chosen for decades to lend support to the Palestinian cause on the ground without interfering in internal Palestinian affairs.
"Nahar Al Maghribia" criticizes the silence of the PJD following the statements of Issam El Aaryane, a leader of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Movement and leader of the Parliamentary Group of the Party of Freedom and Justice (in power), which under-estimated the role of Morocco in favor of the Palestinian cause. The paper argues that "Benkirane and other PJD officials should have commented on these statements, noting that El Aaryane wants to determine on behalf of Palestinians who did or did not assist the Palestinian living in the city of Al-Quds.
