US condemns violence against protesters in Egypt

WASHINGTON, District of Columbia, Aug 14, 2013 (AFP) The United States "strongly condemns" the violence against protesters in Egypt and opposes the imposition of a state of emergency, the White House said Wednesday. White House spokesman Josh Earnest urged the Egyptian military to "show restraint" after a crackdown on supporters of deposed elected president Mohamed Morsi.
