Rabat- Moroccan opposition and feminist groups will take to the streets on March 8th to protest what they describe as "the government's lack of will to implement the provisions of the constitution on gender equality."
In response to a call launched by Le Collectif Parite et Democratie (the Parity and Democracy Collective), a group that brings together political figures and other figures from the Moroccan feminist movement, women activists, civil society and opposition groups will organize a national march next Sunday (March 8th) which coincides with the Women's International Day, Aujourd'hui Le Maroc newspaper reported.
Supported by political opposition groups, namely Al Istiqlal Party, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) and the Party of Authenticity and Modernity (PAM), the protestors are demanding equality between men and women in the political, economic, social and cultural spheres.
