Rabat- Moroccan actress, Amal Essaqr, said on Friday that Middle Eastern men love Moroccan women better than do Moroccan men, because they appreciate their value more than their countrymen.
Essaqr, speaking on the Chada FM radio show “Imad F'La Radio,” said that she is not comfortable with the situation of women in Moroccan “patriarchal society,” which she said “looks down on women in everything they do.”
Her statement elicited the objection of Imad, the radio host, who challenged her, asking how she knows that Gulf men respect and treat women better than Moroccan men. The Moroccan actress insisted in her remark. "I swear, that Moroccan men do not understand us,” she said.

Essaqr blamed women themselves for the “dire situation” of women in Morocco.
“It is our fault as women,” she said. “I blame society and myself too.” The Moroccan actress criticized women who stay at home waiting to get married, arguing that “Marriage is not a goal,” but rather “a means that can help a woman achieve her objective.”
“So many women have no goals in life except for waiting for someone to take them by the hand like a cow from a pen."
“As a Moroccan woman,” she concluded, “I am very proud of Moroccan women’s qualities.” Qualities such as patience, dedication, good housekeeping, beauty, taking care of their husbands needs are what made oriental men love and value Moroccan women.
