Rabat - Saudi Arabia’s Tareq Ben Laden Group is reportedly planning to invest $1.5 billion in the construction of a 514-meter tower in downtown Casablanca. If built, the tower will be the largest in Africa and Europe.
The tower will include commercial complexes, business centers, tourist businesses and recreational facilities.
In addition, the tower will host smart offices equipped with the latest technologies. "The smart tower" will be the first of its kind in Africa and Europe to be linked entirely to the internet.
According to Hespress news website, the company officials are only awaiting the approval of the Moroccan government before starting the construction work.
The tower will be comprised of 114 stories, the same as the number of Suras (chapters) in the Holy Quran, added the website.
The tower will also include upscale residential complexes, the largest shopping and entertainment center in the African continent, a 7-star luxury hotel and restaurants run by international brands.
The project will be fully funded and implemented by the Saudi businessman Tareq Ben Laden.
