Rabat- The executive committee of the African Football Confederation (CAF) is set to travel to Rabat on Monday for a final and decisive meeting with Moroccan officials regarding the fate of the African Cup of Nations, initially scheduled to take place in Morocco from January 17 to February 8.
CAF committee met on Sunday in the Algerian capital to discuss the Moroccan proposal to postpone the 2015 Afcon.
According to media reports, the Algiers meeting of the executive committee of African football body failed to make a final decision on a possible delay of the thirtieth edition of the continental tournament.
However, the committee has reportedly granted Issa Hayatou, President of the African Football Confederation, the authority to make a final decision on whether to postpone the tournament or seek new hosts. A delegation of the CAF is expected in the Moroccan capital on Monday.
