Terrorist recruitment ring dismantled in Nador and Melilia, Morocco for the ISIS (Islamic State)

Rabat -  The two ISIS recruits, arrested on October 27th in Morocco, planned attacks against banks and multinationals in France and Morocco, the Interior Ministry said Thursday.

Investigations in the case of the French national (BF) and his French-Moroccan accomplice (AA), arrested on October 27 while attempting to join the terrorist organization of the Islamic State, have identified that they have posted beheading videos of hostages to promote "jihadist" ideas among extremist youth to carry out individual terrorist acts in Morocco and France, taking inspiration from the "exploit" of Frech-Algerian terrorist Mohamed Merah, the ministry said in a statement.

Investigations also showed that the two men were planning assaults against banking agencies and multinationals in France and Morocco, under a fatwa issued by an Al Qaeda operational in Yemen, in order to finance their "jihadist" projects in conjunction with "jihadists" operating in the Syrian-Iraqi area, the statement added.

In this respect, the French-Moroccan has contracted several loans from banks in Morocco and France based on false documents, the same source said.

Concerning the Algerian (AB), arrested at the same time in Fez for planning to join his Moroccan wife and his parents-in-law in the Syrian-Iraqi area, investigations showed that he coordinated his departure with "Islamic State" militants, who handed him videos of Syrian soldiers and hostages beheaded in a sordid way.

They were also found in possession of computer media containing extensive documentation drawn from the Internet, and audio-visual recordings inciting for "jihad", the ministry pointed out.
