Femen France's Page posted on Wednesday a picture allegedly of a “Moroccan” topless girl holding a banner that reads “FREE FEMEN”
Shot on the roof of what it looks architecturally like a Moroccan coastal city, the fan page claimed that the image is for the “First topless in Morocco”.
Like the FEMEN activists in Europe and Tunisia, the girl wrote on her bare body “There will be millions of us from Morocco to Tunisia! “
The girl posted her photo with bare breasts to call for “the liberation of women”.
Many people shared the image and posted their comments encouraging or debasing the act.
"Millions from Morocco to Tunisia, I see but an idiot in this picture,” reads a comment.
It is worth to mention that Arab women’s right activists namely Moroccans are not satisfied with the way FEMEN activists protest.
Moroccan pro-democracy activist Zineb Belmkaddem maintained that using a woman’s naked body to change policy is simply bad for women.
“Exposing the woman’s body … reinforces the image that objectifies women actually, no matter how FEMEN would like to think that the action frees them somehow,” she said.
“I tell FEMEN call me when exposing your breasts gets you to break the glass ceiling. And if it does, then it’s probably for the wrong reasons,” she added.
In support for the jailing of the Tunisian Amina, three European Femen activists were detained after staging their bare-breasted protest in Tunis on May 29.
The three European activists were released from a prison in Tunisia on Wednesday after they apologised for their protest.
Founded in Ukraine in 2008, in support for the Tunisian activist who went bare breasts on Facebook, Femen is a self-declared “radical feminist” group known for its topless protests against sexual exploitation of women, sexism and religious institutions.
