Rabat - Six Moroccan women ministers made it to Forbes Magazine list of the 200 most powerful women in the Arab world in the category "Government."
The first Moroccan woman minister on the list is Fatema Marouan, Minister of Handicrafts, social & Solidarity Economy, who was ranked 19th, followed by Bassima Hakkaoui, Minister of Solidarity, women, Family & Social Development, ranked 22nd.
Mbarka Bouaida, Minister of Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs & Cooperation was ranked 39th, followed by her colleague Soumia Benkhaldoun, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research & Executive Training ranked in the 40th position.
Hakima El Hiti, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Energy, Mining, Water & Environment, for the Environment and Charafat Afilal, Minister Delegate for Water were both ranked 42nd.
The list of influential Arab women in the category Government was topped by UAE's Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister for International Cooperation & Development/ President of Zayad University. She is followed by Oman's Dr. Rawya Al Busaidi, Minister of Higher Education and Hind Subaih Al Subaih, Minister of Social Affairs & Labor/ Minister of state for planning & development Affairs of the state of Kuwait.
The Government category ranking took into consideration a range of criteria such as the individual's role in influencing revenues and budget, the degree of power associated with their position, Economic indicators of the country and Length of time in their position.
