Rabat - Have you ever wondered why would the Moroccan authorities prevent people from using a section of a vital motorway for 14 days just to allow an American actor to film scenes from his upcoming big budget production movie?
The answer is easy. The mouth-watering revenues.
According to Noureddine Saïl, the general director of the Moroccan Cinematographic Centre (CCM), revenues from foreign production movies being filmed in Morocco will reach $120 million in 2014 (that's nearly 1 billion Moroccan Dirhams), a record that signifies almost 50% rise in comparison with earnings from 2008.
"There is dynamism that some would want to hide but is clearly established," Noureddine Saïl was quoted as saying by Telquel magazine
