According to the channel, “the food festival has been running for the past 10 years without much safety regulation”, but this year Canterbury City Council introduced some measures to regulate the festival and make sure that health and safety are respected.
To meet health and safety regulations, the council of the city requires that barbecues and food stalls owners to apply for a permit in order to run their business.
"We've licensed 23 stalls this year," the mayor said.
While Ramadan is a month of fasting and deep reflection into one’s faith, devotion to God and self-control, it is also a time for socializing, food sharing and festive atmosphere that takes place every night of this holy month.
