Marrakech - The Moroccan Ministry of Health has launched its national blood donation campaign, organized every year on the 14th of July.
This year’s slogan is "Safe blood to save the lives of mothers."
Officials from the Ministry of Health will take part in the event to honor blood donors and raise citizens' awareness of safe blood transfer and its direct effects in saving the lives of patients, especially pregnant women during childbirth.
The donors will be given medals and certificates, as well as recognition awards from blood donor associations and foundations in Marrakech.
The campaign aims at reaching 13,000 donors, which will allow them to refuel the blood bank and provide a fifteen-day supply of blood to save lives.
Similarly, Moroccan associations showed their support and praise for the campaign, hoping it will increase in the number of donors.
This annual initiative embodies the generosity, humanitarianism, and high spirits of Moroccan citizens, who acted upon this opportunity to donate their blood, hoping to save lives. It also embodies the will of the Ministry to make blood donation a priority in public health care.
