Fez- King Mohammed VI is expected to return to Morocco after a visit of several days to Tunisia, according to Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).
The Moroccan monarch carried out an official visit to Tunisia on May 30- June 1. The visit, which was the first of its kind by an Arab head of state after the Tunisian revolution, was marked by the signing of 23 bilateral cooperation agreements, which are of highly strategic importance, as they cover various economic, social and security fields, and open up broad prospects of cooperation for the integration of the Maghreb.
The highlight of King Mohammed’s official visit was the speech he delivered before the Tunisian national constituent assembly.
On the second day of the visit, Tunisian President, Moncef Merzouki, hosted a dinner in honor of the Moroccan monarch and awarded him the Special Grand Cordon of the Republic distinction.
For his part, King Mohammed VI awarded the Tunisian president the “Wissam El Mohammadi” distinction.
