Washington - Morocco is a "model of stability" despite the difficult economic conditions, marked, particularly by the economic crisis in Europe and the political transitions in the Arab world, said Director General of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde.

In an editorial published on the blog of the IMF, "IMFdirect" Lagarde said thanks to its location "at the crossroads of Africa, Europe and the Middle East, Morocco opens very promising perspectives as a hub of economic influence in the region" of the Middle East and North Africa.
The IMF chief also noted that in this delicate regional and international juncture, the economy "has been resilient and deep reforms are underway."
Referring to her working visit ??last week to the Kingdom, Lagarde expressed admiration of the "legendary hospitality and friendliness" during this trip to Morocco.
During this visit, the head of the IMF met with several Moroccan officials, and was received by King Mohammed VI.
