Rabat - The Moroccan Football Federation has denied in a statement allegations of corruption raised against its president Faouzi Lakjaa by a local daily newspaper.
Moroccan daily newspaper Al Naas had reported on Friday that FRMF president Faouzi Lakjaa granted deals worth MAD 6 million outside the law.
The statement released on the federation’s official website said that the president of the Moroccan Football Federation Faouzi Lakjaa will file a lawsuit against the newspaper.
“In order to correct the fallacies and enlighten the public opinion, the Moroccan Royal Football Federation acknowledges that Mr. Faouzi Lakjaa had never made a deal since he took charge of the Moroccan Football Federation, and that those who make such claims have to provide proofs,” reads the statement.
