Rabat - Badou Zaki, the newly appointed head coach of the national team is supposed to begin in the next few days a European tour to hold meetings with Moroccan professional football players ahead of the pre-competition training camp that will take place in Algarve, Portugal on May 20th, according to daily newspaper Akhbar Al Yaoum.
Zaki, who takes charge of the Atlas Lions for the second time in his career, will explain to the Moroccan professionals playing in Europe his strategy to lead the national squad and the goals he will be striving to achieve, chief among them is wining the African Cup of Nations that will be hosted by Morocco next January.
The national team will play two friendly matches during its training camp in Portugal, one against Mozambique and the second against Angola. Upon their return to Morocco, the Atlas Lions will play an extra friendly against Senegal before they pack for a trip to Russia to play against the Russian team in the capital city of Moscow.
It is also reported that all the expenses of the Russia friendly will be borne by the Russian football federation and that they will also pay their Moroccan counterparts around $60,000.
