Rabat- In the framework of the already existing US-Morocco partnership, Morocco will participate in a Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) organized in Colorado and California from June 8th through June 18th.
Twelve Moroccan energy experts and decision makers will travel to the US to demonstrate Morocco’s ambitious solar energy plan. The event constitutes a good chance for Morocco to offer investment opportunities for US energy companies.
The RTM is sponsored by the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and organized by The Webster Group, a top Washington D.C. event and meeting planning company. According to the American news outlet: http://www.prweb.com, the RTM will link Moroccan decision makers with potential sponsoring companies from the US for future solar energy projects in Morocco.
“The expected growth in Morocco’s solar energy infrastructure presents an unprecedented opportunity for U.S. solar technologies and services,”according to Heather Lanigan, USTDA Country Manager in Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, quoted on the website.
In May 2013, the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN) started construction of a major solar power plant near Ouarzazate, and at 4 other stations, aiming to produce about 2000 MW by 2020.
