Meknes - The in Morocco (SIAM) received, in its 9th edition in Meknes, around 400.000 visitors during the first five days, a step on the way of attaining one million visitors by the end of the show on May 3rd, said SIAM organizer Jaouad Chami at a press briefing.
"We received on Sunday about 150,000 visitors who flocked to this show, which is has become over the years a must-see African Agriculture event", he said.
The 9th edition will run for 10 days rather than 5. The first 5 days will be opened to professionals while the public will have access to the fair over the remaining period.
Over 29 conferences have been held so far, Chami said, noting that the show is considered as a potential for cooperation between African countries represented at the show.
The show surface area was expanded to 172,000 m² which provides a new look to SIAM.
Held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, the 9th edition of the show, in which the European Union (EU) is the guest of honor, includes exhibitions, conferences and B to B meetings and a competition for the 2014 SIAM trophy.
