The 9th edition of the Ministerial Forum on Modernization of Public Administration and Governance will be held in Rabat from 10 to 11 June 2013.
The African Training and Research Center in Administration for Development (CAFRAD) organizes this event in collaboration with the Moroccan Ministry of Public Service and Modernization of Administration.
The central theme of the forum will be “Creating conditions for open government in African countries: an efficient public administration to meet the needs of citizens.”
The main objective of the forum is to explore the possibilities and challenges of implementing open and efficient governance in African countries.
Sharing knowledge and expertise on new strategies and approaches to governance, providing opportunities for partnerships between African countries on issues dealt with during the forum, and examining the possibilities, conditions and challenges of establishing an open governance are all major questions that will be addressed during this edition of the forum.
This important meeting will see the participation of African Ministers of Public Service, Ministers of Labor, Ministers of Administrative Reform and Governance, Ministers of Planning and Policy Development, alongside General Managers of National Schools and Institutes of Public Administration, as well as Presidents of national commissions in charge of public administration and governance.
The forum will kick off with formal opening speeches given by the head of the government, Abdelilah Benkirane, alongside the president of CAFRAD, and will culminate with a report on the different questions and issues addressed by the participants.
