The new prerogatives of the National Foreign Trade Council (NCCC), the situation of Moroccan workers in Ceuta and Melilla, the right to protest, and the adoption of Moroccan children by foreign nationals are the main topics that dominated the editorials of Moroccan dailies on Friday.
Entitled "before""L’Economiste" writes that after 17 years of service "the National Foreign Trade Council (NCCC) is heralding a new era with a reengagement of its structure ", adding that" it will serve as a sort of business intelligence (BI) body, a decision that has been welcomed so far.
"Aujourd'hui le Maroc" notes that the situation of cross-border workers "bodes no good," indicating that they have appealed to the authorities to look into their case for several months, wondering about the fate of thousands of people who cross each day the entrance doors to Ceuta and Melilla, and who don’t seem to be treated on an equal footing as the people of these two cities."
Regarding the issue of the right to protest, "Al Ahdath Al Maghribia" indicates that the clash between security forces and demonstrators in the Kingdom is due a number of reasons, including marginalization and social exclusion, unemployment and social problems like water and electricity shortages, and insecurity, adding that the crackdown on "peaceful" protests is no longer tolerable in democratic Morocco.
On a related note, "Attajdid" argues that the series of pressure on Morocco to undermine its sovereignty continues relentlessly, adding that after the strong views expressed by the Department of Justice concerning the prohibition of foreign non-permanent residents in the Kingdom to adopt Moroccan children, some foreign organizations have opted for other modes of pressure to compel the Department to change its position, including the legislative front.
